Humidification can relieve side effects of positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy, such as dry throat, dry sinuses and irritated nasal passages. It can also greatly improve comfort. Humidification systems fall into two categories: heated and passive. Heated humidification provides higher levels of humidification and greater relief of symptoms.
